
Her fairy tale wedding is planned at an exotic location with all the prerequisites of a big fat Indian wedding. Meanwhile, his bossy mother calls for the grand wedding of Bipin's real daughter Isha, ( Sanah Kapoor) who is a bubbly, kind hearted girl with a plumped-up body. Bipin is always worried about his little girl Alia's insomnia and hopes that one fine day, her prince charming will succeed in making her sleep. Alia, all her life tries to fit in but in vain.

Bipin has a dysfunctional family consisting of his bossy mother, a catty wife and weird brothers. She is an adopted child, but is loved dearly by her new father Bipin Arora ( Pankaj Kapur).

Plot: The plot of the film revolves around the life of Alia Arora ( Alia Bhatt), a pretty girl who loves to live in her fantasy land, is a walking encyclopaedia and an insomniac. From the presentation of the film, the climax was expected to be a lot more Shaandaar! To make a long story short, it was somewhat like the customer ordered for a large size cherry chocolate cake but was served with a pastry instead. Negative Points: The slow pace of the film that is stretched a bit too long. The film renders a very positive message for people who deal with body image issues. The character-sketch of all the actors is very well established.

Positive Points: The movie is shot in gorgeous locations and the picturization teleports you to an imaginary fairy land. Prior to their relationship, both suffered from insomnia.One line Review: A fairy tale like family drama with the touch of a Rom-Com, having brilliant performances, but, unfortunately it loses its grip midway. They genuinely fall for one another and they even find sleep in each other's arms. In short it is a bunch of morally bankrupt people who are trying to pull wool over each others eyes.Īlia and Shahid are the only two real people in this situation. It also comes to light that the Fundwanis are also bankrupt and they are hoping that their association with the Punjabi family will save the day for them. In fact, this is the time when all their hidden truths come out. People eat magic mushrooms and brownies and start hallucinating. There is a lot of ridiculous stuff happening. The elder brother of the groom, Sanjay Kapoor dresses in gold and always hold a gun in his hand even when he is having breakfast. The wedding background becomes a playground for the Sindhi and Punjabi families with all their sho-sha. However, she agrees to be a part of the 'business deal' that her grandmother has made because she wants to save her family from bankruptcy. In the meanwhile, a plump Isha is very unhappy that she has to marry the Fundwani boy who can only talk about his eight and a half packs and is always saying mean things to her about her weight. Jagjinder Joginder (Shahid Kapoor) turns up as the wedding planner with a team. The wedding is set to take place at a Palace in Leeds, Great Britain. Bipin's mother wants Sanah to marry into the rich Fundwani family so that they can inherit big money. He tells her that the day she finds sound sleep, all the dreams that he has made up for her will come true.īipin and his wife Nikki have another daughter called Isha (Sanah Kapur).
